Happy Wheels has just launched amid the recent, unsettling news of Flash’s impending demise. That was an intense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we hope that the suspense over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t disturbed your sleep. If you weren’t aware that this game was in development, here’s some exciting news for you: this is its first public release. As such, please bear with us as we work to iron out any remaining bugs.
While I still favor the Flash version, I appreciate that this new release runs exceptionally well on mobile devices. Currently, however, there are no on-screen controls for mobile gameplay—these will be implemented in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone right now, a Bluetooth keyboard provides a great alternative.
Although I initially promised the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may run slower at that framerate. Fortunately, this can be adjusted via a setting. I am also considering hosting a dedicated 60 Hz version on a separate page for users with high-performance CPUs.
Rest assured, Happy Wheels JS remains a faithful recreation of the original in both design and gameplay. The user database, levels, and replays have been preserved since the initial release. The only thing that’s disappeared is the universe’s impending end.
